So, I took advantage of having some free time and upgraded this site to WordPress 2.0. Not too bad of an install, though I’m not sure what benefits will come from the upgrade. So far, some AJAX features on the administration side and probably some new security holes, which I’ll have to keep an eye on in the future. But still, it’s always fun to work some small computer projects into my life.

So, 2005 is nearly over and, assuming that there will not be some surprise release in the next day, I have a pretty good sense at this point of what my favorite songs of the year are. Here’s a quick list:
- Draw Us Lines, by the Constantines
- The Music Next Door, by the Lucksmiths
- Reunion, by Stars
- My Doorbell, by the White Stripes
- Shine a Light, by Wolf Parade
- This Year, by the Mountain Goats
- Entertain, by Sleater-Kinney
- What A Wonderful Man, by My Morning Jacket
- Your Little Hoodrat Friend, by the Hold Steady
- Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away, by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
- Sing Me Spanish Techno, by the New Pornographers
- Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, Il, by Sufjan Stevens
- The Bleeding Heart Show, by the New Pornographers
- Soon Enough, by the Constantines
- Eli, the Barrow Boy, by the Decemberists
- The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth, by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
- The Earthquake of 73, by the Fruit Bats
- Banging Camp, by the Hold Steady
And of course, this should by no means be considered an exhaustive list…

Hello? An Update? ::

So, that was a long semester.
I know it’s been quite some time since the last time I posted here, and many of you probably presumed this place was dead after I didn’t post anything for the entire month of November. But with school done and about three weeks of off time laid out before me, it may very well be that I’ll be posting more regularly in the near future. Also, as many may already know, Jessamyn and I are planning a trip to Alabama in the first week of January. That should make for interesting story material as well, and should inspire me to be a bit more active as well.
In any event, despite the lack of sunlight in the coming month or so, things are looking a little brighter on these pages.
