Broken server :: September 2nd, 2003 ::
Oh my, this server is broken.
According to the administrators who run things around here, there is a hard disk problem that is causing some unmanageably high loads on this server. While the information I was able to gather myself is consistent with the claim that there is in fact a high load problem (running an uptime returned 58.85, 71.81, 43.01), I can’t be sure if it’s the result of a hard disk issue, or if they (the administrators) actually don’t know what the problem is, and they’re just blaming it on the hard disk, figuing that most of the users of the server don’t have the technical wherewithal to probe deeper for more information.
In any event, you may have some trouble accessing these pages until the problem is resolved. I’m hoping things will be back to “normal” relatively quickly
